#2 Khalid is only 19! He was born in Georgia, USA on 11 February 1998.
#3 He’s an army brat. Growing up, Khalid lived a nomadic lifestyle as the son of a military mum. Besides living in Georgia, Kentucky, New York and El Paso, TX in the USA, he also lived in Germany for quite a while.

#4 Khalid’s biggest musical influence is his mother (aww). She was a singer, but decided to pursue a stable career in the army to provide for Khalid as a single mother.
#5 Music runs in his family. Following his mum’s footsteps, Khalid grew up being musical. He studied singing and musical theatre in high school.

#6 But he can’t play any instruments. In an interview with CBS News, Khalid said, "I can't play an instrument to save my life, but when I'm creating and when I'm making music, I feel like I'm the head of the orchestra, and I'm just waving my wand, and something is created."
#7 Khalid has collaborated with some big names. He performed uncredited vocals for Kendrick Lamar’s song “The Heart Part 4” and appeared on Calvin Harris’ song “Rollin” with Future.

#8 Khalid shot to fame with his first single, “Location”. He wrote the song to impress a girl, but sadly, it didn’t work out between them.
#9 Kylie Jenner is a fan. When “Location” was Khalid’s only released single, Kylie played a clip of the track on her Snapchat video and it helped Khalid get exposure.
#10 You might have heard him on Grey’s Anatomy. Khalid’s song, “Angels”, was featured on the episode titled: “Don’t Stop Me Now”, which aired on 27 April 2017.
