It’s never easy to lose someone and unfortunately, the cast of Riverdale have lost one of its family. Luke Perry.
Luke, who was best known for his role on Riverdale as Archie’s dad – Fred Andrews, and heartthrob, Dylan Mckay on Beverly Hills, 90210, suffered from a massive stroke recently that he unfortunately never recovered from.

The actor was hospitalised last week in Los Angeles, California after suffering the stroke that he was sadly unable to recover from. His publicist confirmed that Luke had passed away at the age of 52.
In the wake of the saddening news, production on Riverdale has been put on hold as the cast and crew members take time to pay their respects to the actor.

Warner Bros. and the CW released a statement following Luke’s untimely departure.
“We are deeply saddened to learn today about the passing of Luke Perry. A beloved member of the Riverdale, Warner Bros. and CW family, Luke was everything you would hope he would be: an incredibly caring, consummate professional with a giant heart, and a true friend to all. A father figure and mentor to the show’s young cast, Luke was incredibly generous, and he infused the set with love and kindness. Our thoughts are with Luke’s family during this most difficult time,” the statement reads.
Many of Luke’s loved ones and various collaborators have taken to social media to express their love for the actor.
