In this digital era, anyone can pretend to be someone online. There are fake accounts everywhere you look, people using anonymous names. Many social media accounts don’t require you to verify your identity. And even those that do, still have users who register with fake names.
Under the safety of anonymity, people say things that they wouldn’t say in real life. Simply because they’ll less likely have to face the repercussions. And virtually, its’ very difficult to stop people from bothering and harassing you online. Especially when you can’t know who they are.
Recently, local darling Yuna posted a tweet asking Instagram for help. Apparently, she’s been harassed by the same person for over half a year on Instagram. Although she’s blocked and reported this person every single time, they just keep coming back under a new account, leaving sexually disturbing comments on her posts.
Some fans came to her aid offering alternative solutions while waiting for Instagram to take further action.
We hope some serious action is taken against this person! This is not cool!
