Hatsune Miku is set to delight her Malaysian and Southeast Asian fans this December in Miku Expo 2017. Her concert will be opened by YouTube singing sensation Chaleeda Gilbert, together with Malaysia’s own Zizan Razak.
Chaleeda is, in many ways, like Miku herself. The British-Thai teen rose to fame on YouTube with her cover of Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself.” She released her first official single, “Ready For Love”, earlier this year, and she has another single, “Mind Over Matter”, coming in October.
She will be performing both songs on stage at Miku Expo 2017 with Thai rapper Dandee.
“[It’s an] honour for me to be able to perform at a huge event like this expo,” she said at the Miku Expo 2017 press conference.
Zizan Razak has long been a household name in Malaysia. In addition to his wildly successful movies Polis Evo and Abang Long Fadhil 2, Zizan has a few hit singles of his own, and he will be singing a duet of his song “Chentaku” with Hatsune Miku herself.
“[Miku] is such an extraordinary virtual idol… I was stunned seeing so many of her fans,” Zizan said at the press conference. “I hope this concert will be an opportunity for international fans to get to know me as well.”
Zizan and Chaleeda will be performing alongside Miku at Miku Expo 2017 on 16 December. Ticket sales start on 8 October at 10am, so make sure you get them before they sell out!
