Although Beyoncé’s last three albums (4, Beyoncé, and Lemonade) were critically acclaimed and chart topping, she hasn’t had a number 1 song in the US since “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” in 2008.

On Monday, 11 December, “Perfect Duet”, the newly recorded version of Ed Sheeran’s single featuring Beyoncé, knocked Post Malone and 21 Savage’s “Rockstar” from the top spot, bumping Camila Cabello’s “Havana” to #3.

Ed Sheeran reacted to the good news on Instagram this morning:

Sheeran’s “Shape Of You” was the #1 song on the Billboard chart this year in January, and stayed there for 12 non-consecutive weeks! Meanwhile, “Perfect Duet” is Beyoncé’s sixth #1 song as a solo artist.

We think Beyoncé owes Sheeran coffee for this!
