News about the death of Chadwick Boseman took fans around the world by surprise after his four-year long battle with colon cancer and even in death, the world is still moved by his kindness during his time on earth… including his co-star Sienna Miller.
The late Black Panther star was recently revealed to have taken a pay cut from the movie 21 Bridges, just to make sure his co-star Sienna Miller got paid equally!
“I didn’t know whether or not to tell this story, and I haven’t yet. But I am going to tell it because I think it’s a testament to who he was,” Sienna said in an interview.
“This was a pretty big-budget film, and I know that everybody understands about the pay disparity in Hollywood, but I asked for a number that the studio wouldn’t get to.”
She said that Chadwick was a producer of the 2019 movie and had been actively trying to get her to act in the movie too and approached her at a time when she didn’t want to work anymore.
“I'd been working non-stop and I was exhausted, but then I wanted to work with him,” she added. “And because I was hesitant to go back to work and my daughter was starting school and it was an inconvenient time, I said, 'I'll do it if I'm compensated in the right way.'”
“And Chadwick ended up donating some of his salary to get me to the number that I had asked for. He said that that was what I deserved to be paid."
"That kind of thing just doesn't happen. He said, 'You're getting paid what you deserve, and what you're worth.' It's just unfathomable to imagine another man in that town behaving that graciously or respectfully,” Sienna said.
Fans were touched by his gesture, with many saying that he indeed features the “remembrances of a king.”
The world has indeed lost a precious and truly kind man, and the world will always remember him as the star who was taken away too soon.
