Partying is still not an option for many around the world due to the risk of spreading COVID-19, and a celebrity couple have learnt why partying is not advisable the hard way!
David and Victoria Beckham have reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 in secret after attending a party in Los Angeles in March.
The celebrity couple was struck by the virus after the launch of David’s new football club, Inter Miami where Victoria flew down to support him.
"David was on duty for his club Inter Miami, and Victoria and the family flew down to support him,” said a source close to the family.
"They attended a couple of swanky networking events as David had promotional duties, and were shaking hands and kissing fans and various club dignitaries.”
The family also celebrated Brooklyn Beckham’s 21 birthday at their country retreat before flying back to the States.
"David started to feel ill and then Victoria developed a sore throat,” the source described the diagnosis.
“At the same time, several of their team including drivers, bodyguards and assistants fell ill — a couple of them very badly so. Victoria really panicked and made the whole family quarantine rigidly for more than two weeks.”
"It was a rough few weeks," the source said and revealed that Victoria was afraid she was a “super spreader” before making a full recovery in secret while checking on their team’s wellbeing regularly.
The virus was said to have originated from the time the family watched Inter Miami’s first away game at Los Angeles FC, five days before Brooklyn’s huge 21st birthday party.
The family have since spent the rest of the lockdown at home and became two of the first celebrities to show their support for healthcare workers with the weekly Clap for Carers initiative.
“Words can’t describe how thankful we all are for the bravery and hard work of everyone who is making significant sacrifices to keep us safe,” Victoria said.
They also made many donations to help those who were hit hard by the pandemic, with the source saying, “David and Victoria have done their utmost during the pandemic to help others, and make up for travelling so early into the crisis.”
