The world was shocked after Chadwick Boseman’s sudden death from a four-year long battle with colon cancer, but some toxic Marvel fans have chosen to focus on attacking celebrities for not posting tributes to him instead of letting his co-stars grieve in their own time and way.
Marvel toxic fans have reportedly forced Scarlet Witch actress Elizabeth Olsen off Instagram after they blasted her account because she did not post any tribute over the weekend in memory of Chadwick Boseman.
The 31-year-old actress has since deleted her only active social media account after fans left harsh criticisms, threats and named-called her because she did not grief in public.
A page named Marvel Cinematic World posted the news on Facebook with the caption saying, “some people think that if you're not showing your pain in public or on social media it doesn't exist.”
Many netizens have since came to the actress’ defence, with many sharing their own experiences for grieving over the passing of a close friend and not sharing it on social media with others saying that people grieve differently.
“Is this really what we've come to?” one user said. “Just because she didn't type words for the whole world to see doesn't mean she's not affected by Chadwick's passing.”
“Words do not have to be put up as a status update to show how much you are hurting. The cast was a family. Not many can put that loss into words just for the sake of the public eye,” another said.
“Why are we becoming dependent on social media? I don't blast my feelings on social media. It's a private matter for herself where is the common sense??”
Other Marvel actors have shared their way of grieving by posting heartfelt tributes on their social media, some taking more time than others.
While Elizabeth did not post the tribute on her personal account, she did join the Avengers cast on a special tribute on ABC where she was seen tearfully saying, “it’s only fit to be mourning him like a king” as her voice breaks.
Either way, the world is at a loss with the death of Chadwick Boseman.
