Wayang Kulit Puppet Became “Happier” Being Ed Sheeran.

For Malaysia’s National Day this year, Warner Music Malaysia has released a video featuring Wayang Kulit Ed Sheeran “singing” to “Happier”. This is a Malaysian parody of the original music video where a puppet was also used. But we think the Malaysian version look better. What say you?

According to a behind the scenes video, the creator of this wayang kulit is Tintoy Chuo from Fusion Wayang Kulit with a mission to revive this unique Malaysian art. It took 3 weeks for him to complete this masterpiece that included actual guitar strings!

Chuo remembered to stay true to the wayang kulit traditional elements by adding a sarong. Making sure the puppet also has Ed Sheeran’s identity, the singer’s unique tattoos were painted on the wayang kulit. Chuo hopes that people will like it and that Ed Sheeran himself will be able to see this for himself. We hope so too!
