Yunalis Zarai, or more lovingly known as Yuna, is no longer just a singer/songwriter from
Malaysia. The 31-year- old songstress, who started off by posting her singing videos on
YouTube, is now collaborating with some of the biggest artists from around the world.
However, before success came knocking, she had to endure a lot of ups and downs while
trying to make it in the Malaysian music industry. Recently, she shared her story on her
Instastories.
One of the stories that she shared involved starting a record label with her friend, Cheq
Wawa—a decision that happened because music executives wanted her to ditch the
headscarf and sing in Malay. Lucky for her—and for us—they persevered, and look where
she is today!
