It’s a Monday morning and you’ve just sat down in the lecture hall. Professor Whoever starts the lecture and you think, “Alright, new week, new class, time to get my life in order and EAT this degree.” 15 minutes go by, and now you’re snickering to TikTok’s ‘name one woman’ challenge…
Focusing can be a struggle
Being productive is ultimately the answer to stellar results, but the problem isn’t so much in getting the job done—it’s more staying focus on the task at hand and actually getting the job done. After all, the average human attention span is only 8.25 seconds!

Forest plants a virtual tree every time you resist the urge to use your phone. There’s even a really cute snow themed forest! It also provides statistics on screentime and rewards you for staying focused.

Freedom blocks websites and apps, allowing you to set limits on how much time you want to spend on certain phone activities including social media. You can even schedule times for when you want no distractions at all!

#3 Brain.fm

Brain.fm uses music to help you focus. You can use it to relax or sleep too. It offers tracks designed to stimulate different brainwave patterns, like beta waves for focus and alpha waves for relaxation. It also has guided meditations and mindfulness exercises.

#4 Session

Session gives you 25 minutes per time to really dig deep and get work done. During this focus mode, apps and websites that you’ve labelled as distracting will be blocked. Access will be restored at the end of the 25-minute session for 5 minutes before the next session begins again.
After 4 25-minute sessions, you’ll get a longer break between 20 to 30 minutes.

#5 One Sec

One Sec sets a delay-timer when you press on selected apps. In this time, it asks you to stop, take a breath, think about why you’re really clicking on an app, and whether you actually need to be on this app right now. It can be configured to any app on your phone or even website of your choosing!
Available on: App Store, Google Play, and on desktop.
So, are you sold? It’s Red Bull in one hand and a focus app in another.
Here’s to a turbocharged 2024! Get that focus and energy boost with Red Bull, and go crush that exam or work assignment!
