At least they still get to be at the wedding…?

One of the worst things when planning a party is dealing with the guest list. Even though you’ve sent out all your invitations and requested for the guests to RSVP, sometimes only half would and the other half would go unanswered.

This especially sucks when you’re planning a wedding. But not for this couple who found a way to deal with non-RSVP-ers.

A couple’s wedding invite recently made its way to Reddit and got many people laughing at the ingenious idea.

Like a normal invite, guests have the option to accept or decline the invitation but have to RSVP by 10th September 2019. The cheeky invite also has an option for those who do not respond by the set time.

The invite reads:

“If you do not reply by September 10th please bring a chair and a sandwich.”

This great remark has people in stitches, especially because they know how hard it is to deal with no-shows and guests who turn up at the last minute (and sometimes bring their whole family along).

One person commented praising the couple saying, “Good for them. That’s why you RSVP.”

Others shared their own horror stories of guests that didn’t turn up or worse.

“My grandmother-in-law owns a restaurant that closes at noon,” a user commented. “Our wedding was at 1. She invited all her regulars throughout the day to attend. Still didn’t make up for all the no-show RSVPs.”

Another commented saying, “Had an estranged uncle call me the day before my wedding to tell me him and his family of 8 will be there. I told him no and haven’t heard from him since. I don’t understand people who don’t RSVP.”

Other Reddit users saw an opportunity with bringing a chair and sandwich to the wedding.

“Does that mean I don’t have to RSVP, and then I can bring a chair and a sandwich and not but the bride and groom a gift cuz I’m broke (and cuz I’m not eating their expensive food)?” one user said.

Another said, “More comfortable chair, and your choice of sandwich? Sounds like a no brainer to me.”

We’re totally on board with this couple’s alternative option to non-RSVP-ers! What are your thoughts on their ingenious idea?
