Back in school, there were many students who tried to make a little extra pocket money by selling handmade cards, soaps, brownies etc. But this 7-year-old has got to be one of the brightest of his year with his entrepreneur skills!

His trade? Grasshoppers.

A Sabahan mother was shocked to discover that her son Qaiser Rifqi Martin returned from school with a little more money than he had initially started the day with.

Instead of the RM2 that his mother Hasmi Samsuddin provided him, Qaiser came home with RM4 in his pocket!

The mother took to Facebook to share her shock and annoyance at the Standard 1 student’s sneaky behaviour on just his second day of school.

Initially, Hasmi was confused as to how her son’s money had doubled when he returned home. She thought he had stolen it!

According to the post, her eldest son had come home and pestered her about where his piggy bank was so he could make a deposit.

Speaking to mStar she said, “It was only on the second day of school. I was shocked that he brought money home from school, because I only gave him RM2, but he brought back RM4.”

“I thought he had stolen the money from his friends, but when I asked him where he got the money from, he said that he made it selling grasshoppers to his friends,” she said.

She noted that she was extremely irritated but amused at the same time at the idea that her son had started his own side business.

Qaiser definitely has the makings of a successful young entrepreneur! What we liked best was that he immediate planned to save the money instead of spending it on sweets or toys.

What are your thoughts on this young entrepreneur? Do you know anyone like this? Let us know!
