The voting is over and Malaysia’s very own #GOAT is at the top of the list!
That’s right! Nicol David has finished at number 1 after weeks of voting!

Since we first heard about the squash queen’s nomination for the World Games’ Greatest Athlete of All Time award, Malaysia has been rallying behind the athlete to get her to the top of the list.
With voting closed at 9pm tonight (1st February), it seems like Nicol David has clinched the honour!

The squash legend received a total of 318,943 votes beating runner up James Kehoe (Tug of War) from Ireland who had 113,120 votes.
The World Games is a multi-sports event that’s staged every four years by the International World Games Association and hosts non-Olympic sports and events such as squash, floorball, lacrosse, sumo wrestling, Muay Thai and more.
Nicol is the only Asian who was nominated in the list which included Swedish archer Morgan Lundin, the Brazilian women’s beach handball team, Russian gymnastics legend Evgeniya Kanaeva, racquetball player Paolo Longoria, Dutch Jiu-Jitsu exponent Rob Haans and Sweden’s May Thai world champion Sofia Olofsson.
