Malaysia just won the World Cup qualifier match against Indonesia with the score of 2 – 0! But fans at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium were both happy and worried!
Videos captured at the National Stadium were posted online showing flares being thrown at Malaysian fans!
One flare was thrown at local fans around the 29th minute of the match when Malaysia took the lead and the second flare was thrown after Malaysia defeated Indonesia in the Asian qualifier match.
Several other incidents also took place outside of the stadium with another flare that emitted smoke seen flung towards the crowd and the Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) was seen trying to contain the situation.
This is not the first time Malaysian fans have been attacked after a football match between Malaysia and Indonesia.
Stones and objects were thrown at Malaysian fans at the World Cup qualifier held in Indonesia in September.
Fifa fined Indonesia’s national football association RM187,000 ($45,000) after the incident.
Malaysia is now placed second in the Second Round Group G after the two goals scored by Muhammad Safawi Rasid for Malaysia!
Were you there at the stadium to witness the chaotic situation? Let us know!
