Reports have said that the Premier League season will not be postponed but all upcoming matches and lower division matches in England are to be played without spectators amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

The Premier League games will also be stopped from being shown in bistros "to avoid congregation of people".

The plan has yet to be implemented and “may be implemented once the number of UK coronavirus cases passes 500”, with 450 people being infected by the coronavirus and eight deaths recorded so far.

Manchester City’s English Premier League home match against Arsenal was also postponed recently after Arsenal’s players came in contact with a COVID-19 case and were told to go into a 14-days isolation.

Premier League won’t be the first major league game to be played behind closed doors - if the plan is being implemented, with the French Ligue 1 and Spanish LA Liga game already being played without spectators.

There are also other football players who are being tested positive for COVID-19 virus, it’s uncertain that will happen in the upcoming major league games.

Stay safe and always remember to wash your hands as often as possible!
