We’ve seen people doing it—some of us have done it before too—but crossing the road illegally or before the pedestrian light turns green is a common mistake many of us make. And honestly, a very dangerous one too!

In a move to stop that problem, China may have just found the perfect solution. To prevent people from crossing the road against the light, yellow pylons are being installed on intersections. These pylons will spray you with water if you’re caught jaywalking!

cross the road illegally and you’ll get sprayed by water and a photo taken!

The system has sensors that will warn you beforehand saying, “Please don’t go through. You will be sprayed with water.” If you choose to ignore the message and cross the road, you’ll be sprayed with water that’ll get your clothes soaking wet.

You may think, “What if I can run fast enough to avoid the water?”. Well, of course the authorities have thought of that too. A camera has also been set up to take photos of the offenders—photos that will be sent to the police database. These images will then be displayed on screen on the streets for everyone to see!

So, if you don’t want to get wet and have unflattering photos of you plastered around town, obey the rules! What a genius move. This should be installed worldwide!
