Gamers, we’ve got some bad news coming your way.
With so many concerts and events being cancelled or postponed amidst COVID-19 fears, it looks like the highly anticipated E3 2020 has been cancelled as well…

For the first time ever since 1996, the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) that was to be held in early June this year, has been cancelled, Ars Technica reported.
“Multiple sources familiar with the Entertainment Software Association (ESA)’s plans have confirmed to Ars Technica that the organization, which is responsible for the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), will soon cancel the three-day expo,” the publication reported.
“One source who spoke to Ars on background said they’d heard the news of E3 2020’s cancellation ‘directly from ESA members’ and that an official, public statement on the matter ‘was supposed to be today [Tuesday, March 10] and slipped’”.

No official confirmation that the expo is cancelled has been made from the organisers just yet.
Several notable media outlets however, have also reported that the expo has been cancelled this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.
“It’s worth pointing out that there seems to be a little uncertainty about whether or not the show will be outright cancelled, postponed, or held as something completely different,” Comic Book reports. “Chances are it’s the most former though.”

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been getting many reports that events – including many gaming events – have been cancelled with concerns about the coronavirus increasing all over the globe. The virus has now been urgraded from an epidemic to a pandemic.
While E3 2020 may not be taking place until June, the decision to cancel or postpone an event of this magnitude has to be made early given all the stakeholders and money involved.
But if you’re worried about how you’ll be getting your E3 fix this year, the cancellation of the expo does not mean that there would not be any game announcements in June. These announcements are expected to find its way to the public by other means.
