If you’ve been checking up on your Instagram followers and noticed a significant loss, take a deep breath. Instagram has a bug.
Currently, Instagram is investigating a glitch that has caused many accounts to appear to lose many of their followers. Popular accounts like Ariana Grande, Kylie Jenner and Selena Gomez’s have appeared to have lost millions in a few hours.

The social media platform released a statement on Twitter, ensuring its users that they were aware of the problem and are working towards fixing it.
“We’re aware of an issue that is causing a change in account follower numbers for some people right now. We’re working to resolve this as quickly as possible,” Instagram tweeted.
Fast Company originally suggested that “Instagram took actions to remove millions of accounts the company believed to be inauthentic.” This, however, has not been confirmed or commented on by Instagram.
For those of you worried about your follower count, take a deep breath and let Instagram do their thing.
