We’ve all been through that time when we first started our Instagram accounts. You were so happy to try this new app out that you approved almost anyone you knew who sent you a follow request.

Now, a couple years have gone by and you finally realise what direction you want for your account and what kind of photos you’d like to appear in your feed.

Unfortunately, the only way you can remove those pesky acquaintances, exes, or random schoolmates from your follow list is to block them and then unblock them.

Sure, you can mute them, but some of us are just really particular on who we’d like on our follow list.

Well, soon you might be able to remove these people with just a click of a button.

According to The Verge Instagram is rolling out a new ‘Remove Follower’ button, and the button does so without notifying said follower.

The feature is still on trial period and currently only available for Android users. Instagram hasn’t said when the new feature will be available for iOS.

For Android users who want to check if this feature is available on your account, all you gotta to is head on over to a follower’s page, tap the three vertical dots next to their username. If the feature is available, you’ll see the remove follower function there.
