According to app researcher, Jane Manchun Wong, Facebook is testing its dating feature among their employees.

Wong couldn’t take a look at the full service as only employees are currently allowed to use and test the service.

Wong pointed out a couple of interesting key sub-features the service has, including something called “Conversation Starters”.

Conversation Starters allow users to pick something from the other person’s profile to use to start a conversation, such as a picture or page they’ve liked on Facebook.

Another key feature is “Communities”.

It allows users to browse groups or events in their area and enable them to meet matches who’ve joined the same groups or events.

The screenshots Wong shared also showcase the signup process for the service, which is an opt-in on Facebook’s mobile app.

If you sign up, your new Facebook dating profile is accessible through your existing standard Facebook profile, but not visible to your Facebook friends. Your Facebook friends are also hidden to the matches on your dating profile.

Facebook will only match you with non-friends that fit your dating preference. The service also allows you to choose whether friends of friends on Facebook can see your dating profile, and you can delete your dating profile any time you want.

Facebook Dating was first announced by Mark Zuckerburg during Facebook’s F8 Developer Conference on 1 May 2018.
