Twitter users, for years we’ve been waiting, begging and pleading for an edit button for our tweets.

And now, the wait continues.

Instead of giving us the edit button that users have been waiting for desperately, Twitter has decided to give us their own version of Stories called, “Fleets”.

Yup. More stories.

Twitter recently announced that it would begin to “trial a new sharing format called ‘Fleets,’ starting in Brazil, which will let users post ephemeral content to its social network for the first time,” reports Tech Crunch.

New Fleets will disappear entirely after 24 hours and unlike tweets, you won’t be able to Like, Reply, or Retweet them.

“Fleets aren’t non-public, to be clear; they’re just a little less accessible,” Tech Crunch states. “You could visit someone’s public Twitter profile and tap to view their Fleets even if you don’t follow them. But their Fleet won’t circulate Twitter’s network, show up in Search or Moments, and it can’t be embedded on an external website.”

Sound familiar?

Well, Twitter users think so too.

Many have taken to the Twitterverse with complaints about the social media platform’s new upcoming feature using the hashtag #RIPTwitter.

While some may be embracing the idea of stories on Twitter, a majority of others are asking why there was a need for it in the first place and of course, where is the Edit button the Twitterverse actually needs.

We’re torn but one thing’s for sure, we’re on #TeamEditButton!

What are your thoughts on the upcoming feature? Are you for it or against it? Let us know!
