Ads are taking over our lives day by day and one day, they might just take over our daily routines like that one episode of Black Mirror where you need to watch an ad for the smallest thing like turning off a light.

One thing’s for sure, ads will be taking over our messaging life. WhatsApp have just confirmed that they will be introducing ads in-app as soon as 2020.
At the Facebook Marketing Summit, WhatsApp announced that ads will be appearing in the in-app WhatsApp status, which is similar to how Instagram stories ads works.
The name of the company will appear, and you can have the option to swipe up for more information.

While it seems like it will be interrupting our daily messages, the ad doesn’t really affect those who don’t use the WhatsApp status so it’s not that bad.
