WhatsApp has simplified our lives yet again!
WhatsApp’s new feature is making it easier to change our numbers while still maintaining our WhatsApp the way we like it.
The new feature automatically informs all your contacts that you’ve changed your number and imports your chats to the new number.
There are three alert options: you notify all contacts, notify contacts who you have a chat with, or you can manually choose who to alert – in case there are some people that you don’t want notified of your changed number.
WAbetainfo said in their post that the feature is part of a WhatsApp beta for Android users. To access it, you’ll need to update to the 2.18.97 Android beta on Google Play Store. Then, head to WhatsApp Settings > Account and select the Change Number option.
Now for the bad news – even if you choose not to notify all your contacts, all the groups you’re in would automatically be notified of your number change. Also, the update is not yet available on WhatsApp for iOS and Window Phones.
