PLUS’ current objective is to increase the number of payment methods for users and they are in the process of upgrading their toll plaza infrastructure.
This new payment system will be implemented via an open payment system that utilises RFID.
If you’re ever worried about not having enough money in your Touch N’ Go card, this new system will put your mind at ease. Not only that, drivers will no longer have to join the long queues to top up your cards too!

PLUS Managing Director, Datuk Azman also added that users will be able to link any eWallet to PLUS RFID once the upgrade is completed, this includes the Touch ‘n Go eWallet.
As one of the main causes of jams at tolls is drivers not having enough balance on their Touch ‘n Go cards, PLUS hopes to overcome this issue by introducing these new payment options.

On top of the introduction of this new payment system, PLUS has also revealed that they will be upgrading their 1,400 CCTV cameras with Ultra HD resolution. These new cameras will help PLUS to provide better video analysis on traffic conditions and the causes of congestion.
Once these Ultra HD cameras have been installed, PLUS will the move on to installing these high-resolution cameras at all 24 R&R locations.
Do you think that this is a wise move to introduce a credit and debit card payment system? Will it help with congestion? Let us know!
