It wouldn't be September without Apple's annual debut event. This year is no different. At its Cupertino headquarters in California, Apple unveiled three new iPhones—the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and the iPhoneXR—including its biggest and most expensive one yet!
Let's break the phones down to make things a little easier to digest.
1. The iPhone XS

The iPhone XS directly replaces last year's iPhone X. The screen size stays at 5.8 inches and the phone in general looks very similar to last year's model, a refinement in fact. The iPhone XS comes with new features and improvements including longer battery life, faster photo capture and a new dual SIM capability.
2. The iPhone XS Max

With a 6.5-inch "Super Retina" OLED display, the iPhone XS Max is huge, and it's got the price tag to match. The iPhone XS Max starts at US$1,099 (RM4,556), with 64GB storage, and goes up all the way to US$1,499 (RM6,214) with 512GB storage.
Both the XS and XS Max have two 12-megapixel lenses on the back. Apple is touting a new feature called "Smart HDR", which seamlessly blends several different image frames into a single image. This ensures pictures look sharper and have more natural light. Another new camera trick is the adjustable bokeh—you can snap a photo and then adjust the blurriness or sharpness of the background.
The biggest upgrade to this year's iPhone models is the "A12 Bionic" chip that’s said to make the iPhone more powerful than ever! Both the models support a dual-SIM card system that enables multiple phone numbers and easier international travel.
Both the XS and XS Max come in three colours; gold, silver and space grey. You can also choose from three different storage options; 64GB, 256GB, and—for the first time ever in an iPhone—512GB!
3. The iPhone XR

Coming in at US$749 (RM3,105), the iPhone XR isn’t exactly cheap, but it’s cheaper than the iPhone XS and XS Max. Size-wise, the iPhone XR sits in between the two with a 6.1-inch LCD screen.
Internally, the iPhone XR is nearly identical to the XS and XS Max. It has the same A12 Bionic chip, powered by the same supporting hardware. It also has a similarly powerful battery.
What makes it different is that the iPhone XR loses its 3D Touch and only has one of the two 12 megapixel cameras found on the back of the iPhone XS and XS Max.
But on the bright side, the iPhone XR comes in six colours! Black, white, red, yellow, coral, blue; take your pick with three storage sizes of 64GB, 128GB and 256GB!
