Fans have been eagerly waiting for more PlayStation 5 updates after the latest DualSense controller reveal and now, an event date has been set for next week!
Sony confirmed that a PlayStation 5 event will take place at 1pm PDT on the 4th of June, which means you will have to stay awake at 4am, June 5th if you want to catch the livestream of the event in Malaysia!
The event trailer also teased the black version of the DualSense controller that was previously revealed in white!
The PS5 focused event will run for just over an hour and you can expect to see PS5 games and gameplay in what Sony has described as “a look at the future of gaming”.
Despite fans’ concern over the release of the console due to the current global pandemic, Sony is still sticking to a holiday 2020 PS5 release, which many speculate will take place in November.

“The games coming to PS5 represent the best in the industry from innovative studios that span the globe. Studios, both larger and smaller, those newer and those more established, all have been hard at work developing games that will showcase the potential of the hardware,” Sony Interactive Entertainment president and CEO Jim Ryan said.
Fans are excited to see what the event will offer, especially after Epic Games previously showcased the Unreal Engine 5’s tech demo running on the PlayStation 5 hardware, showcasing some extremely realistic visuals.
Sony also revealed the full PlayStation specs that’s capable of supporting 4K visuals at 120Hz on a TV that can support it. The full specs is as below:

Previous reports also noted that the new console will be able to support all games created from PlayStation 1 to PlayStation 4!
Seeing that the PlayStation reveal next week will be one of a “series of PS5 updates”, it is not likely that fans will get a surprise console reveal, but one can certainly hope that they will!
