The long-awaited Sony PlayStation 5 has finally confirmed a release date and new features coming in 2020!
Sony just confirmed the official name for the next generation of PlayStation console and it's no surprise that it’s called PlayStation 5 (PS5)!
The new PS will be coming “Holiday 2020”, which is around October and December next year.
The price for the console has yet to be revealed, but it can be estimated to be more than the price of the PS4 Pro, which is currently at RM1795 (£349).
Sony also confirmed that the new dual shock controllers will have new haptic feedback technology such as adaptive triggers.
The adaptive triggers will be applied to the R2/L2 triggers that will make players feel the increased tension and resistance when it comes to certain games, like how you need to press harder when you draw a bow or driving through rough terrain.
The PS5 will use standard 100GB Blu-ray discs and promises to have super-fast internal SSD and promises to have a “completely revamped user interface”.
It was previously revealed that the console will have the eight-core CPU (which will be based on AMD’s third-gen Ryzen line), custom GPU based on AMD’s Radeon Navi hardware, “3D audio,” the support for 8K gaming (as well as for 4K gaming at 120Hz), a much lower power consumption option, and PS4 backwards compatibility.
Also check out this new futuristic render design that Let’sGoDigital put together using scraps of information from PS5 insiders!
While the design might not be the same as what the real PS5 will look like, we are definitely excited to see what Sony has to offer!
Will you be switching to the PlayStation 5 when it’s released in 2020? Let us know!
