Sony has been holding on to details of the upcoming PS5 console for months but now, the confirmed console price and launch date have finally been revealed!
The new PlayStation 5 console is set to launch in US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea on November 12 and the rest of the world on November 19, with a cheaper price than expected!
The PlayStation 5 Digital Edition price is set at a starting price of RM1655 ($399.99) and RM2069 ($499.99) for the PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-Ray disc drive.
Either way, Malaysians can expect to get a new PS5 console below RM2,000, which is cheaper than expected considering that the PlayStation 4 was also sold at $399 during its launch in 2013… but that is if you can find one...
Bloomberg reported that production for the PS5 has been estimated to reduce down from 15 million units to 11 million units due to “production issues with its custom-designed system-on-chip for the new console.”
However, Sony reached out to release a statement claiming that the information Bloomberg published is incorrect.
But if the information holds true, could this mean that there'd be a limited amount of PS5s sold in the market and could it result in a hike in price for the console when it's released? Guess we’ll only find out when the console is launched in November!
The PS5 showcase also revealed upcoming game titles from God Of War: Ragnarok to Hogwarts Legacy and many others that fans are excited for!
Apart from the game announcements, PlayStation Plus Collection was also announced and includes a total of 15 iconic titles like Bloodborne, Final Fantasy XV, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and more!
Guess it’s time to save up to get yourself a PS5 this November! Are you planning to get the upcoming PlayStation? Let us know!
