If you’ve been keeping up with updates in the tech world, you'll be familiar with Sophia, the humanoid robot that was developed by Hanson Robotics, a company that is based in Hong Kong. She was first activated in 2015, and was the first robot to get a citizenship back in October in Saudi Arabia!
Now, the lifelike robot is adding another feat to her name. She could possibly be the first robot to wear a saree, which she did when making her debut at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (ITT-B). She also held a 15-minute conversation with a student in front of an audience of more than 3,000 people!
When asked by a Facebook user about the secret to attaining happiness, Sophia replied, “Learn from others and learn from nature, believe in yourself and your very own power to manifest goodness in this world.”
Sophia however, fell silent five minutes into the conversation due to an “internet issue”, but came back to life after the glitch was fixed. Following that, she was able to answer the variety of questions posed by the students.
During her appearance, Sophia also added, “It was science that created me, and it was philosophy which drives me. Both of them combined together will take us forward."
