Study Found That Xbox Gamers Are More Toxic Than PlayStation Gamers

Battlefield and COD players were recorded as the angriest too.

It can be pretty toxic playing games online sometimes it seems like some gamers are more toxic compared to others!

A study found that Xbox gamers are more toxic compared to PlayStation players after a survey conducted with nearly 1,000 gamers.

The Buss Perry Aggression Questionnaire was overseen by professional psychologists and concluded that “Xbox players are the most toxic gamers, having the highest levels of physical aggression, verbal aggression, anger and hostility.”

The data also revealed that Battlefield and Call of Duty players were the angriest, “coming first and second for the categories of physical aggression, verbal aggression, and anger.”

Another interesting finding from the study shows Animal Crossing players were recorded to be in the top 5 of most aggressive players.

“Despite its reputation for being relaxing, Animal Crossing players not only made the top 5 for the category of physical aggression but were found to be more physically aggressive than Grand Theft Auto Online players.”

The time spent on gaming also affects gamers aggression levels, with the study showing that “the more time spent gaming, the higher the levels of physical aggression, verbal aggression, anger and hostility.”

Either way, online gaming came a long way from was used to be, and although more gamers are gaming online more than ever now, the number of toxic players have been reduced or limited with the preventive measure by game developers.
