Get excited everyone, Waze recently announced that it has added the Cantonese dialect to its voice navigation options!
Waze users from Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Singapore, United States of America, United Kingdom and Malaysia; volunteered their time and effort to make this new voice navigation option possible.

In just two months, the team was able to put together the new language option with active support and recruitment efforts from the community. The quick turnaround was able to be achieved by the Waze localisation team.
The team were able to adapt the language from the existing Chinese languages by adjusting Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese to Chinese HK. A Hong Kong-approved Chinese language voice was also selected by the team to ensure all pronunciations and directions were precise to give drivers a clear and secure driving experience.

Chinese-speaking Wazers now have plenty of options to choose from - Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Cantonese!
