For many, being under quarantine and lockdown is not easy as some are separated from their loved ones.

As the world has been doing all they can to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, all Paige wanted was to hug her grandparents. Unfortunately, the virus has forced the family members to keep their distance from each other.

But thanks to a video that Paige came across on social media, she was able to get creative and hug her grandparents once again.

“Paige saw a video of someone who made this type of ‘blanket’ to hug their family,” said Paige’s mum Lindsay Okray on Facebook. “She put together a list and she designed it so she could hug nana and papa… this girl is so freaking amazing, and we were so happy to be able to hug them!!”

The 10-year-old built her hug curtain using a shower curtain, Ziploc bags, disposable plates and a hot glue gun. Her mum, who works as a nurse, supervised the creation of the hug curtain that was set up outside of the grandparent’s front door.

In the photos and video that Lindsay shared, Paige’s grandparents can be seen taking turns giving her big hugs.

“It might be wet from the Lysol wipe,” Lindsay can be heard saying off-camera, once the grandparents open the door.

“Oh my God, I love you,” the grandmother can be heard saying while she excitedly embraces her granddaughter. “How cool is this?”

This is definitely a cool idea! Sometimes all you need, is just a hug from your loved ones!

Paige’s creativity has captured the interest of the internet and we won’t be surprised if we see more of these hug curtains appearing!

While Paige has definitely come up with a great idea, please be sure that you stay responsible and stay at home as much as possible. Just like Paige, be sure to take all precautions if you need to go out and remember to practice social distancing!
