Every festival, the night skies are filled with an array of beautiful fireworks that mark the celebrations.
But while we’re staring up into the sky in awe of these lights, our furry friends are running and hiding away in absolute terror.
And unfortunately, one puppy was so scared by the fireworks, she actually died from a heart attack that was caused by them!

Molly, an 18-week-old puppy from South Yorkshire, UK tragically died from a heart attack after fireworks and loud bangs caused her such a fright.
In a public Facebook group called Wombwell Wise, a woman named Susan Peterson shared the devastating news and has urged people to “please think of the animals” when setting off fireworks.
“Molly was only 18 weeks old and died of FRIGHT caused by fireworks,” she wrote. “We are still trying to make sense of what happened. Dreading the fireworks again tonight.”
“Molly may be gone but she will never be forgotten and will live on in our hearts,” Susan added.

Susan then went on to urge the public to sign a petition that calls for a full review of laws that surround fireworks in order to protect animals from injury and distress.
The petition reads:
“Fireworks can cause serious distress to animals. They don’t only suffer psychologically, but also physically as many attempt to run away from, or hide from, the bangs.
With extreme noise levels and people being able to let off fireworks any time of year, it’s difficult for those who care for animals to be able to put measures in place to protect their animals.”

Because of this, an urgent review of firework regulations to restrict use and prevent needless animal suffering has been called through the petition.
The petition, which currently has over 500,000 signatures, also states that around 40% of dogs are fearful of the loud noises such as fireworks. This also means that “thousands of animals’ lives are made a misery by random fireworks.”

Pet owners, you’d definitely know what it’s like when your pet is terrified by fireworks. Unfortunately, Molly fell victim to this circumstance but we hope the public would learn a lesson through this.
If you’d like to sign the petition, you can do so here.
Share this with your loved ones who also have furry friends.
