The date was 22 May 1980, and it’s significant because that was the day that Pac-Man was launched in Japan before moving on to forever change the lives of kids, teens, and adults all around the world.

The experiment is called the Kite Experiment, which Benjamin Franklin conducted to prove that lightning and electricity were the same thing. The famous experiment was conducted on a stormy (because how else is he going to find lightning, right?) Thursday on 15 June 1752 in Philadelphia.

We bet you didn’t think Thursdays had such a huge impact on the world huh? Well, now you know. Before the day is over, go and make it a special day! Incidentally, according to the Chinese calendar, it’s also Yan Yat, also known as Everybody’s Birthday. So, happy birthday!
