From celebrating 60 years of independence to hosting and coming up top in medals in the 29th SEA Games, 2017 has been a tremendously good year to us. But alas, all good things must come to an end, and in a blink of an eye 2018 is here!

Alongside new beginnings, the new year also means a new opportunity to get started on your fitness. Whether you’re into yoga, dance, or bodybuilding here are 5 YouTube channels you should watch to help you get you started on this year’s fitness resolution…

#1 For bodybuilding

More than just workout tips and techniques for achieving 6 pack abs, and thicker chest and arms, the ATHLEAN-X™ channel is also the place for free nutrition and supplement advice, helping you achieve a more athletic build quicker without subjecting yourself to harm and injuries.

The channel is hosted by physical therapist and strength coach, Jeff Cavaliere and to date, has 842 videos and 3.9 million subscribers, making it one of the most popular fitness channels on YouTube.

While, not specifically catered to men however, ATHELEAN-X™ does lean (pun intended) more towards workout commonly undertaken by men. However, they do have a sister channel called Athlean-XX for Women with 553 videos of workouts designed for women.

#2 For yoga

Describing itself as a channel for all levels, body types, genders, and souls, Yoga with Adriene is indeed one the best resource for yoga tips and poses on YouTube. Boasting over 300 videos, the channel has videos ranging from yoga for diabetes to yoga for dancer to yoga for loneliness.

The channel also has the occasional video for yogi tea recipe and must-visit places in Austin, Texas where the host, Adriene, is from.

#3 For cardio and overall fitness

Don’t think that you can get fitness tips from personal trainers for free? Then you’ll be glad to be wrong for once in your life. The HASfit channel is committed to always be free, providing over 1,000 full length workout routines including complete 30 to 90-day fitness programs that includes meal plans.

Most workout featured in the videos on this channel require little to no equipment, meaning you can follow along either at home or at work if you’re not shy about doing squats in front of your colleagues.

#4 For dancing!

We get it, not everyone is comfortable dancing in public for fear of looking clumsy and uncoordinated but dancing isn’t something you can just pick-up easily without having someone to follow along to.

That’s where 1MILLION Dance Studio comes in! The channel boasts a whopping 6.9 million subscribers and 842 videos featuring K-Pop choreography that you can pop, lock, and sway along to in the comfort and privacy of your own space.
