Another year coming to an end and another awesome Rainforest Challenge (RFC) comes to a close. After almost 2 weeks of intense racing – one of the world’s top 10 toughest races we might add – RFC 2017 arrives at its finish line in Pekan, Pahang on the 4th of December 2017.

We hope you’ve managed to catch the event in person. If you didn’t, well, that’s a real shame because here are all the mind-blowing things you’ve missed out on…

#1 This beauty of a machine

Yes, they are built for the toughest driving conditions. Yes, they’re large, loud and heavy. And yes, they’re made to be abused. But they aren’t just hunks of metal slapped together without a single thought for aesthetics. Just take a look at this beauty! That’s engineering at its best.

#2 The flag-off ceremony

From Russia to Ecuador, the flag off event gave us a glimpse of all the participants from all over the world. And their awesome trucks of course.

#3 This beast making through one of the toughest parts of the course

There is a reason why RFC is considered of the toughest race in the world. It was only the first day into the race when contestants had to overcome SS 7 of the Prologue section – one of the toughest and most technical part of the race. Just look at the how steep that incline is!

#4 This contestant who gave it his best shot, but…

It won’t be one of the toughest parts of the course without some drivers failing to overcome it. In fact, only 2 teams made it through. Accidents like this one are the kind you can expect in RFC. However, it’s all part of the fun and challenge. But as tough as this part of the race was, it wasn’t the toughest. That award goes to…

#5 The Twilight section

It may not look like it, but the Twilight section is the toughest part of the RFC course. Driving over water means little to no traction and the rocks that protrude adds to the challenge, danger, and ride discomfort.

#6 Malaysia came in first and third!

After 10 days of gruelling challenges, Team Maxxis from Sabah has proven that they are the better team, winning themselves the cash prize of RM20,000 as well as making all Malaysians proud. But they are not the only ones to made it to the top, Team Malaysia managed to snag the 2nd runner up position as well.

Regret not following the event yet? Well, the Rainforest Challenge is held every year, so make sure to follow the next one!

In the meantime, why not fuel your vehicle with Petron Turbo Diesel Euro 5, the same fuel that Petron, the official fuel sponsor, provided to the vehicles in the RFC so you too can experience better power, engine protection, and mileage out of your high-performance diesel engine.

Petron Turbo Diesel Euro 5 is formulated with an advanced triple action additive technology designed to condition the fuel to withstand extreme heat and high pressure, preventing harmful fouling while cleaning the injection system and removing existing deposits.

Its European Emission Standard 5 (Euro 5) compliance also means the fuel emits less harmful substances to the environment, is safer for people, and prolongs the life and effectiveness of after treatment devices such as catalytic converters and diesel particulate filters.

Did we mention that it can be used with any diesel engine vehicles? Because it can.
