While we’re preparing to celebrate this upcoming festive season with new clothes and delicious food, it’s always important to always be grateful that we have what we need. One way to show our gratitude is by giving back to the society.
Some of us might choose to do this by donating their money. But for those who want to look at other means or even get hands-on, we’ve got some options for you to choose from. Read on to find out!
#1 Fuel up at Shell and donate to those in need

Most of us will be going back to our kampung within the next few days for Raya holidays, why not turn your journey into a blessing by stopping by at Shell and contribute to a good cause. Shell’s ‘Anda Beli, Kami Derma’ campaign will donate 1 sen for every litre of fuel pumped starting 30 May 2019 to 8 June 2019 to National Cancer Society Malaysia, Food Aid Foundation and Malaysian Nature Society.

#2 Plant a tree for the Malaysian Nature Society

We need more trees around! They contribute to our environment by giving us oxygen, improving air quality, conserving water, and supporting wildlife—among others! Volunteer with the Malaysian Nature Society to plant trees—and if you’re looking to do more, they have various activities that lets do our part to help the environment.
#3 Cook for the Food Aid Organisation

The Food Aid Organisation runs a foodbank and are always in need of volunteers to assist them in operations. If you’ve got skills in cooking and want to give back to the community, click here!
#4 Be a Happiness Hero for kids through the National Cancer Society

Good with kids? Volunteer to be a Happiness Hero at the National Cancer Society’s Children’s Home of Hope. Besides interacting with kids through games and activities, you can also use existing professional skills (such as teaching and counselling) to help the patients and caregiver.

#5 Take care of animals at SPCA Selangor’s the E.R.A Centre

If you love animals, then this is for you. Volunteering at the E.R.A Centre involves a lot of animal handling and operational procedures, so you’ll have to go through their one-off Pet Care Programme to find out more about the work they do.
Some examples of duties you’ll be doing include cleaning, preparing meals for animals, and socialising them. Click here for more info.
#6 Create awareness about preserving wildlife with WWF Malaysia
