AirAsia has flown 215 members of the Malaysian Battalion 850-3 (Malbatt 850-3) to Lebanon to serve under the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (Unifil) peacekeeping mission in 2015.
Moreover, during the Lahad Datu conflict of 2013, the Defence Ministry needed help transferring its soldiers to Sabah as their aircrafts back then could only accommodate less than 200 soldiers. AirAsia came to their assistance by helping to charter the soldiers!
#2 They’ve been advocating for the recently increased passenger service charges to be reviewed

In August, AirAsia started an online petition against the increased passenger service charges in order to keep flying affordable. The petition garnered almost 70,000 signatures from across Malaysia.
#3 Being an athlete isn’t cheap! That’s why AirAsia sponsors them

AirAsia is known for their initiatives to support Malaysian athletes. For instance, they supported Malaysian bodybuilder Faiz Ariffin in his bid for the World and Asian Championships in 2017.

When Ravindran Thiagarajah was laid off from his previous job. He found work at AirAsia and is now an ICT Desktop Support. He gets to fulfil his dreams of travelling the world after picking himself back up. “I saw wonder everywhere I went,” he said. “But the best thing about all of this is the feeling of coming back home.”
