#1 Sky diving

If you’re up for the challenge, then sky diving is a must-try. “No words can describe the exhilaration from leaping off a plane and free falling!” Sean told us. “My breath was taken away by the beautiful coastline—it simply goes on forever!”

#2 Visit Point Danger to stand on the border between Queensland and New South Wales

Want to be in two places at the same time? Then Point Danger is where you should be. Sean suggested that you take a selfie to commemorate standing between two Australian states!

#3 Sky Point Climb

Located in the super popular Surfers Paradise, SkyPoint Climb stands 270m in the air. It’s one of Australia’s highest external building walks—so this isn’t for folks afraid of heights. “Safety was top notch,” Sean reviewed. “The views are as good as those of sky diving! But if you’re not keen to climb, head on to the 77th floor for the observation deck to get some good pictures.”

If heights isn’t your thing, there are plenty of things pretty, yummy and trendy expecting you. Here’s what influencer Janiss Foong has to recommend:
#1 Go for a night out at Miami Marketta!

Tucked away in the Miami suburb, according to Janiss, this is a great spot to find tasty street food, do boutique shopping, and watch live music. “The locals are all friendly and casual. We see families and young kids spending their nights here rocking to the band too!” Just a heads-up though—it’s only open on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

#2 Sort out your accommodation at The Island

It’s located at the heart of Surfers Paradise and getting to the beach only takes a 10-minute walk! “This boutique hotel is great for the ‘gram,” says Janiss, who has more than 228,000 Instagram followers. “They don’t do breakfast here. Instead we choose from an ala carte menu, which means that the food is cooked and served fresh! My favourite was their eggs benedict. During the night, the rooftop bar comes alive with trendy locals dressed to the nines for a good night out!”

#3 Go crazy shopping at Pacific Fair, Queensland’s largest mall

Getting there is easy! Just hop on the G:Link in Surfers Paradise and alight at Broadbeach South. “There are so many good departmental stores such as Target, K-Mart, and Big W which offer value buys,” said Janiss. “There are also boutiques by Australian designers that will require one to practice a lot of self-restraint. Remember to check out their food court for lunch and dinner! My personal favourite is Betty’s Burger—it was unforgettable!”
Finally, if you’re a fan of nature and photography you should know the best locations to take pictures. Photographer and travel influencer Neollene recommends these spots for you:
#1 Soak in the beauty of nature at Jack’s Rocks

“We visited Lost World in Scenic Rim and stayed at Cedar Glen Farm Stay. From there, they took us on a 4-wheel drive up to Jack’s Rocks where IS aw one of the most stunning sunsets I had ever seen,” she said. Neollene encouraged travellers to do some research around Gold Coast national parks and hinterland. “Plan a day visit or an overnight stay. It’s on my wish list to revisit Gold Coast’s hinterland again!” she added.

#2 Head over to Dreamworld for some fun

Dreamworld, Gold Coast’s biggest theme park, is one of Neollene’s favourite locations. “I got to cuddle a koala bear and take a picture of it.” She said there’s no describing the feeling of holding the cute animal in her arms! There are also rides, performances and even other animals to look at.

#3 Marvel at Gold Coast’s sunrise and sunset

Whether you found a perfect location or simply sit on the beach to wait for the sun to set or rise, you’re in for a marvellous view—and take some awesome photographs. “The sunrise and sunset in Gold Coast are second to none,” said Neollene. “The sky vistas change from pink, orang to red against the horizon of the sea. The beauty is humbling.”
