It’s a tale as old as time but another prequel series is on the way and this time, the world of Beauty and the Beast is expanding!
For those of you who love the villain in Gaston, rejoice because that’s what this series is about.

Focusing on Gaston and his sidekick LeFou’s friendship, the series will see Luke Evans and Josh Gad reprising their roles from the 2017 live-action movie, with newcomer Briana Middleton joining the cast as LeFou’s stepsister, Tilly.
The series will also include original music from Beauty and the Beast composer Alan Menken.

“Set in the iconic kingdom of Beauty and the Beast years before the Beast and Belle’s epic romance, the series will follow Gaston and LeFour as they set off with LeFou’s step-sister, Tilly, after a surprising revelation from her past comes to light, sending the unlikely trio off on an unexpected journey filled with romance, comedy, and adventure,” the synopsis reads.
“While the mysteries of the past are uncovered and the dangers of the present grow, old friends and new enemies reveal that this familiar kingdom harbours many secrets.”
Those who know the story well will know Gaston as the chauvinistic hunter who wants to forcibly marry Belle because she’s the most beautiful girl in the village. The villain not only hates reading, he also dislikes independent women and would rather spend his time flexing his muscles than learning and understanding more about the object of his desire.
With the prequel series, we’ll get to see how Gaston became the villain he is!

Production on the prequel series is set to begin in spring 2021 and we can’t wait to see the end result!
