To send the show off with a bang, showrunner Steve Holland has lined up numerous Easter eggs, plot twists and surprise guests! One of the treats in store could involve a crossover with the series' successful spinoff, Young Sheldon!

Steve spoke to The Hollywood Reporter and announced his hopes for a last-minute appearance from the precocious nine-year-old Sheldon, played by Iain Armitage.
"We've talked about having Sheldon discover a videotape he made as a kid as a fun way to use Iain Armitage as young Sheldon in a flashback," he said.

The showrunner also hinted at other storylines that the audience may or may not get to see, for example: "We have talked about Amy and Sheldon going to a flag convention and being superstars there."

As for the mystery surrounding Penny's last name? Holland stated that he was sceptical that the secret would ever be revealed, saying: "I don't know for sure. There is always a chance we would, but at this point it's a superstition for us."
He continued, "It started off as an accident where we just didn't mention it, and then realised that we hadn't mentioned it and it has been years now. Then it became a weird piece of superstition. My guess is we won't reveal it. Her last name is Hofstadter now."

We're sad to see the series come to an end, but totally excited for a crossover! What about you?
