Entertainment Weekly confirmed that the reunion special will be happening but it will NOT show on HBO like the episodes will. The highly anticipated reunion will instead be made exclusive to the eventual boxset of Game of Thrones season 1-8.
That means that fans will have to start saving up in preparation of the boxset's release to get your hands on the reunion special!

Sean Bean, who played Ned Stark, let news of the reunion slip before it was made official. He revealed that the old and new cast members joined together to shoot a reunion special, hosted by GoT super fan, Conan O'Brien.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, he said, "Conan O'Brien did this thing. It was the last episode, so we all got together."

He continued, "It was so good! It's funny with work, you don't really keep in touch. You do so many types of jobs in that part of the world. It's just like whenever I see old friends or ever old drama school friends, it's just the same, we pick up where we left off last time."
"They decided to get all the characters together for a bit for this big show in Belfast and [Conan] kind of hosted the evening," he added.
