With only one episode of its first season airing, DC Universe’s Swamp Thing has officially been cancelled.

Less than a week since the first episode aired on the DC Universe’s streaming service, DC announced that the series has been cancelled and will not have the opportunity to be picked up for a second season.

Swamp Thing has been highly anticipated by DC fans who were eager to see how the James Wan-produced live-action series would play out but unfortunately, fans won’t be getting more than the 10 planned episodes.

While being widely received by fans and critics after just one episode, there has been no official reason given as to why the series has been cancelled.

Back in April, reports that the production on Swamp Thing had been unexpectedly shut down, made its way around. While the series was originally supposed to run for 13 episodes, production was abruptly halted after episode 10 to make way for a new ending to be written.

Fans are less than pleased to see the live-action series cancelled after just one episode.

Luckily for fans, it has been reported that HBO and The CW are currently looking into picking up the series for its second season. So cross your fingers!

What are your thoughts on Swamp Thing being cancelled after one episode? Have you seen the first episode yet and will you continue to watch the other nine?
