Here it is, the beginning of the end of Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes on The Walking Dead.

Rick officially has only two episodes left on the zombie filled series about survival. The Walking Dead's social media accounts announced the impending departure stating: "After this week Rick Grimes has TWO EPISODES LEFT. You don't want to miss a second of it."

Our hearts are already breaking.

This would mean that Andrew will make his exit as Rick in episode five that's titled, "What Comes After".

Although it's still unclear on how Rick will be leaving the show, showrunner, Angela Kang, has hinted that death may not be in the cards for him as many have speculated.

"The intention is, this is his exit from the show. But who knows what time may bring? We always love our Andrew, so since we've got some time jumps you never know what might happen," she said.

Angela added that the end of the series was not in sight at the moment and said that "as long as the comic keeps going strong, it's hard for [her] to say it has to end at this point."

"I've definitely had the experience where I say, 'This is the best storyline that has ever been written for the comics. It can't be topped, we're going to have to end the show,' she continued. "But then [Robert Kirkman] comes up with an amazing twist that makes us keep on reading."

After 9 seasons, it's heartbreaking to see Rick leave The Walking Dead. Hopefully this gives you some time to prepare yourself.
