Given the option, most of us would prefer using the lift rather than climbing the stairs most of the time. But you’d probably feel guilty knowing that our PM Tun Dr Mahathir makes a habit to use the latter instead, at the age of 93!

In a recent interview, Tun Mahathir revealed that before the invention of heart surgery, he “wouldn’t last” and the invention of the heart and lung machine is a great invention that helped.
He then said, “until now I still climb the stairs. In my office, there are 28 steps of stairs to go up. I make it a habit to not use the lift. In our house, we’ve installed a lift, but I don’t often use it. I prefer to climb the stairs.”
Despite having an elevator at home he’d still avoid using it and choose to take the stairs instead!
Dr Yahya, the doctor that performed two of Tun Mahathir’s heart surgeries in 1989 and 2007 said that he was “impressed” at how our PM walked up the stairs when Singapore’s Prime Minister visited and that he “didn’t seem breathless at all.”
He added, “he’s a very disciplined man who takes instructions very well from the doctors. He looks after his diet.”
Tun Mahathir said that he never overeats amnd can still wear pants that he bought 35 years ago!
So guys, start taking the stairs and eat healthy if you wish to have good health in your 90s! We hope Tun M continue to lead Malaysia in great heath!
