A few days ago, you may have heard about a two-faced kitten named Biscuits and Gravy who was born in Albany, Oregon.

Unfortunately, according to the kitten’s owner, Biscuits and Gravy has sadly passed away at just three days old.

After making headlines last week, the miraculous kitten unfortunately passed away on 23rd May. Owner Kyla King, noted that she felt ‘blessed’ for having been a part of Biscuits and Gravy’s  story no matter how short it was.

Taking to Instagram Kyla wrote:

“I want to thank everyone so much for your kindness and love. This story has been a story of life and how very precious it is, whether days or years, whether animal or human, life is so very precious and every single life is unique. I feel so blessed to be a part of the story of Biscuits and Grave and how he brought joy and hope to so many people.

We loved him and cared for him and he passed in my hands. We are thankful to still have his siblings to care for and they are just as precious. I can’t express to you how much this experience has meant to me. Thank you all.”

Despite having only one body, the kitten had two fully developed faces. Both the faces could do different things at the same time.

In another post Kyla noted:

“This photo was taken about an hour before Biscuits died. Kyla gave up 3 ½ days of her life to put all of her efforts into saving him. He was born with the longest of odds and by living nearly 4 days, he beat those odds. I wish I hadn’t said that we wished he was eating more. That prompted many of you to tell us what we were doing wrong. The fact is he was eating very well. What I meant was we wished he could put on weight. He ate a lot, and he peed and pooped a lot. He just didn’t grow. It’s hard work for a little guy like him to support a large head with two complete faces.”

We thank all of you who have been so kind, prayed, and wished the best for Biscuits and Gravy. So many of you care and wanted to follow his progress, and said some very nice things to and about us. We will never forget your kindness! ❤️

If you didn’t know, two-faced cats are known as “Janus” cats – named after the Roman god Janus who had two faces – one looking into the past and the other into the future.

Janus cats rarely survive for more than one day, and Biscuits having lived for 3 ½ days really showed that he indeed a special kitten that beat the odds.
