It’s going to get hot. Well, hotter.
Get ready to feel like you’re constantly sweating and your skin is on fire as the hot weather is expected to continue in the west coast states of Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah until the end of March 2019.

According to the director of the National Weather and Geophysics Operations Centre of the Meteorological Department, Dr Mohd Hisham Mohd Anip, the phenomenon is expected to affect the country at the tail end of the North East Monsoon.
“Normally, during the final phase of the North East Monsoon, the temperature will rise due to the lack of rain,” he said. “The temperature now is between 34 and 36 degree Celsius compared to the usual 32 to 34 degree Celsius.”
“Perlis, Kedah and northern Perak have recorded temperatures as high as 37 degree Celsius. However, this is not a daily phenomenon and we don’t see the mercury hitting 40 degrees Celsius in these states,” the director said.

High temperatures will usually be experienced between 2pm and 4pm in the west coast states and between 1pm and 3pm in Sabah, Mohd Hisham said.
The hot weather phenomenon is expected to come to an end somewhere between March and May as rainfall is expected to rise then causing temperatures to drop.
