If you’ve been on the Internet over the past weekend, you’d have definitely seen the viral posts about British diver Tom Daley, knitting poolside.
During the women’s 3m springboard final, the Olympic gold medallist was seen casually knitting and it left many wondering what exactly it was that he was knitting – it turned out to be a dog’s jumper!
But that’s not the only thing the 27-year-old diver has knitted.
On a Instagram page dedicated to his knitting and crochet pieces, Tom shared that he had also made a gorgeous pink cardigan for Malaysian diver Cheong Jun Hoong in May this year!
“I made my dear friend Cheong Jun Hoong a cardigan,” he captioned the post.
Such is their beautiful friendship; the Malaysian diver too took to social media to thank Tom for the special handmade gift and said that it was “lovely”.
The British diver shared that learning to knit and crochet has helped him tremendously throughout the years and he even knitted a pouch for his gold medal win!
We’re loving this friendship and it’s definitely amazing to see the many friendships that have come out of the Tokyo Olympics!
Do you or someone you know knit? Share some of these creations with us!
