RM3.20 for Milo ice? Um, that's a bit much, right? We're not the only ones to think that.

A restaurateur in Kota Kinabalu has been fined RM30,000 or six months' in jail by the Sessions Court for selling iced milo at an unreasonable price of RM3.20.

Shihan Mohd Salim, 28, who own Anak Mami The Restaurant 3 in KK, was charged under the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011 for failing to provide full pricing details and receipts for beverages between January 2015 and March 2016.

Shihan was also accused of failing to show itemised charges for the milo powder, milk and ice besides the drink's price tag during seven working days starting on 9th May 2016, the report stated.

During a press conference, the ministry's state deputy director, V. Ravichandran said that the businessman had sold the beverage at RM3.20 and a consumer lodged a complaint on the excessive price on 7th March 2016.

He said that the ministry hoped businessmen would take the case as a lesson to not profiteer from marking up their food prices unreasonably. "I also would like to advise consumers to report to our ministry if there are similar cases in future," he added.

Well, now you know what to do if you think you're being unreasonably charged for food!
